ADVANCED LEARNERS

The student who fits this category will most likely fall in the 8th to 12th grade.

All students have an unlimited class selection. Each class is set at an introductory rate starting at $450 per class for the first semester plus lab fee. Tuition breaks are available for classes of second students or multiple class enrollment. INTRODUCTION TO LIGHTROOM AND PHOTOSHOP - YEARBOOK STYLE!

Recommended Ages 14-18

Students will explore two basic photography programs, learning basic portraiture, light editing and culling skills, and yearbook project development.
Students must have an Adobe Creative Cloud Lightroom/Photoshop subscription.

INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOGRAPHY

Recommended Ages 14-18

Students will learn how to operate a digital EOS Camera in Manual mode, exploring how ISO, aperature and shutter speed affect a photo. Students will build a basic portfolio in Lightroom, building on landscape, indoor and outdoor still-life, and indoor and outdoor portraiture.
Students must have a digital EOS Camera with manual mode.

INTRODUCTION TO OFFICE 365

Recommended Age 14-18

Students will explore Microsoft office 365, learning Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

Recommended Age 14-18

Students will learn how to effectively communicate properly in a social and public environment.

GRAMMAR

Recommended Age 14-18

This class provides an analytical overview of English grammar and sentence patterns, with emphasis on how language creates meaning. Students learn to clarify and control their own writing and understand various grammatical structures of English.

PRE-ALGEBRA

Recommended Age 12-18

This class will review the basic operations of arithmetic on whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. These operations will be used in dealing with ratio, proportions, percent, simple geometry, and algebra. As students master these basic concepts, they will move into basic algebra.

CREATIVE WRITING

Recommended age 12-18

This class is designed for students to create original forms of descriptive writing, poetry, drama and fiction. Vocabulary development, creative writing techniques, and skills are explored.

SOCIOLOGY

Recommended Age 14-18

An elective course centered on the behavior of people in groups. Topics included are socialization, institutions, social interaction, social change, collective behavior, and competition in society. Activities include library research, group activities, and simulations, as well as standardized testing.

LET'S TALK BILLS

Recommended Age 12-18

This course is designed to teach our children the ins and outs of the constitution, each individual bill, how it can protect our freedoms, and how it came to be.

LIFE IN SCIFI STYLE

Recommended Age 14-18

Children will gain opportunities in exploration with British Sci-Fi Authors and Book Series! Children will have fun with Aliens, Artificial Intelligence, extraterrestrials in fiction, Apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction, future, history, and human fears, and language.

For High School aged students, we are collaborating with CHIA Academy, a fully accredited program. Our courses are designed to compliment the courses offered through CHIA.
